History
Was founded in the place of the Gavrilovka settlement, in 1920 it was called Taldy-Kurgan.
Since 1930 – center of the Taldy-Kurgan district of Almaty county of Kazakh ASSR. Since 1997 – capital of the Almaty province.
POPULATION
Now 118 thousand people live in Taldy-Kurgan.
INDUSTRY
There are many industrial plants in Taldy-Kurgan: electric battery factory, fruit cannery, clothes factory, shoe factory, furniture factory and others.
